Shalom,

As most of you know, I have been doing 2 separate Shabbat meetings every week for a few years now. The audio broadcast is the newer of the two meetings, but also the most popular.

Originally the audio broadcast was supposed to be done somewhat irregularly, depending on our schedule here at home, but now it is almost always 2 meetings for our family to run every Shabbat.

In light of this, we don't get the amount of rest and family time on Shabbat that I feel Yahweh would desire. For this reason, I will be discontinuing the Shabbat evening ("Friday night") meetings so my family and I can spend time together and rest well.

The audio broadcasts will continue as currently scheduled though, Yahweh willing. We want to be committed to serving the brethren in this way without neglecting other important areas of our lives.

The audio of each broadcast, possibly along with a typed transcript will be available for download each week on this web site. This way, anyone can make copies to CD's and distribute them as Yahweh leads.

One drawback about no longer doing the text chat meetings is that there are a number of deaf believers who participate in these meetings every Shabbat. For this reason, we are planning to implement a way to address this concern. Our current plans (which are subject to change) are as follows:

  • An ASL (American Sign Language) version of each audio meeting will be implemented.

  • A recorded video ASL feed of the previous audio Shabbat will be broadcast via http://www.eliyah.com/videoasl/ at the same time as the current Shabbat evening text chat meetings (9:30PM ET).

  • This video feed will be archived on the web site, and available for distribution on various video sites on the internet.

Our brother "Decrease" (Gregory Ross) will be doing the video ASL for us.

The Torah readings will continue to be shared here every week at 8:30PM. This is automated and does not require my participation, but all are encouraged to continue coming to the chat room for fellowship and discussion.

So after about an 11 and a half year run, the final text chat meeting will be 11/21/08 (Modern reckoning).

I confess that there is a tinge of sadness about the change, but I praise Yahweh for the work He has been doing with the audio broadcast and I want to continue doing them while keeping my priorities straight before Yahweh. The two little ones He has recently brought into our lives underscore the need for this even more.

Thanks to everyone for your love and support.

Shalom & Chesed in Yahushua,

EliYah

Shalom,

I recently added a study to this web site which demonstrates from scripture that Yahweh's days are reckoned from evening to evening. See http://www.eliyah.com/sabbathbegin.html

I have also written a rebuttal to a study that claims Yahweh begins His days at sunrise. Contact me if you are interested in reading it.

Shalom,

We have officially decided that we will be hosting the Feast of Tabernacles at the same place as last year--Eminence, Missouri. All the details can be found at http://www.eliyah.com/fot2008.html

We look forward to seeing many of you again, and meeting lots of new people as well. If you have never attended a feast before, come and find out what you are missing :)

Shalom,

In the last couple of days I added an update to the study on the pronunciation of Yahushua's name at http://www.eliyah.com/yahushua.html . The update addresses the possibility of the Messiah's name being pronounced "Yahusha." Scripture is used to prove that this cannot be the correct pronunciation.

I also added a small update to the study on the pronunciation of Yahweh's name at http://www.eliyah.com/proof.htm . It addresses whether we ought to pronounce the Heavenly Father's name as "Yahuah" due to there being one letter difference between יהדה (Yahudah/Yehudah) and יהוה (Yahweh's name).

Shalom all,

The weekly Live Audio Broadcast can now also be accessed in real time by anyone who has a telephone! From now on, we're planning "dual casting" all Audio Sabbath meetings via Telephone Conference Call.

Via telephone you will be able to hear the full meeting from beginning to end, starting at 12 Noon Eastern Time. To access it, you just need to do the following:

1) Dial (641) 798-4200 (Long distance charges might apply)

2) When it answer, punch in 8281156 # With your touch tone phone. Make sure you press the # (pound) sign after entering the numbers.

3) Ignore the request to announce yourself. In seconds, you'll be able to listen into the broadcast! It's as simple as that :)

The meetings will be still be accessible on the internet as usual at http://www.eliyah.com/live/ , but we just adding another way to access it in case someone has problems connecting to the meeting, or in case someone does not have internet access.

We're excited to be able to offer this because it expands the opportunities for people to listen in. If you have been wanting a friend or family member to listen into the broadcast, it should now be much easier for them to do so whether they have internet or not.

Praise Yahweh!

Shalom & Chesed in Yahushua,

EliYah

Shalom all,

All reports coming from the land of Israel indicate that the Barley is not yet "Aviv" (Deut 16:1, ready for harvest) yet. This was determined after an intense search by multiple witnesses.

As a result, Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread will definitely be during the later dates ("April"). See http://www.eliyah.com/passover2008.html for details and an update to that page.

Shalom,

A volunteer who has already been sending out our printed tracts has offered to make printed copies of any of the studies on this web site available to those who request them. I added a link at the bottom of most pages on this site where you can request a hard copy.

HalleluYAH!!

Shalom mishpacha,

Our time since the Feast of Tabernacles has certainly flown by, and Passover is just around the corner. We plan to be watching for reports on whether the barley is ready for harvest this week. The new year might be just days away. I'll keep you posted!

We very much enjoyed all the great fellowship at the last feast and look forward to seeing many of you again. Lately, I have been seeing more and more about how important it is for us to share our faith. It seems that this is an area that needs refinement in the body of Messiah.

Oftentimes, after experiencing the rejection that many of us face from our families and friends due to our faith in Yahweh, there is a tendency to want to hunker down in a corner somewhere and live our lives away far...far away from the rejection of men.

But we know that Yahushua, the One who was "despised and rejected by men," (Isaiah 53) was not that way, and neither were the apostles. Because they were not that way, but rather rejoiced in suffering, Yahweh used them in a mighty way.

We all need to be willing to fearlessly share our faith rather than putting the light of Yahushua under a basket:

Matthew 5:14-15  "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  15 "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

The light of Yahushua, the living Word made flesh, Yahweh's commandments, His Torah (law), needs to shine into this dark world.

I believe Yahweh can do mighty things when we all work together at reaching the lost and uninformed. I very much look forward to working side by side with many of you this feast--doing just that.

Shalom & Chesed to all who love Yahushua,

EliYah
